Job Title
Engineer - QEM Product Quality Engineering (Yield)
Role Summary
Support semiconductor memory manufacturing for new non-volatile memory products by developing, validating, characterizing, and qualifying processes to enable volume production with improved test yields, product grades, and cumulative yield performance.
Work on yield and failure analysis, identify root causes and yield limiters, and coordinate corrective actions across Design, Product Engineering, R&D, Test, Quality, and Reliability teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level engineer. Years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include leading yield-improvement efforts, performing analysis, and coordinating cross-functional corrective actions.
- Support new product startup and sustain high-volume product yield and product-grade improvements.
- Lead yield/product-grade enhancement: monitor performance, drive plans, and execute improvements.
- Perform data analysis using statistical tools; summarize, present, and publish results to stakeholders.
- Design and run DOE to identify and drive improvement activities.
- Lead taskforce meetings to mitigate yield loss and create continuous improvement roadmaps with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with wafer fab process/integration groups to address process-related defects affecting yield.
- Coordinate with FAB/MH/PE/PYE and other groups to resolve process, device, and test issues.
- Perform yield and failure analysis to identify root-cause failure signatures and yield/product-grade limiters.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency and quality, and share effective AI-enabled enhancements.
Requirements
Must-have technical and interpersonal skills; several items are listed as helpful but not mandatory.
Must-have:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication across levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and drive them to completion.
- Strong teamwork and ability to build peer relationships.
- Willingness to work flexible hours that overlap different time zones if needed.
- Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in yield analysis and electrical failure analysis (EFA).
- Understanding of CMOS device physics.
- Knowledge of NAND device operation.
- Familiarity with probe test flow and test methodology, including array operation and customer specifications.
- Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
