Job Title

Engineer - QEM PQE Electrical Failure Analysis

Role Summary

The Engineer will perform die‑level electrical failure analysis and bench characterization to identify root causes of yield, quality, and reliability issues for advanced NAND products manufactured in Fab 10N/X, Singapore.

Work supports NPI and high‑volume manufacturing by providing failure mode construction, test and probe experiments, and actionable recommendations for test, process, and device improvements.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not state specific years of experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include failure diagnosis, experimentation, and cross-functional problem resolution.

  • Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) and bench characterization at die, circuit, and transistor levels.
  • Construct failure models and root cause explanations for yield excursions, reliability issues, and customer returns.
  • Design and execute bench DOEs and probe engineering experiments to validate hypotheses.
  • Translate characterization results into test, process, or device optimization actions.
  • Perform circuit and layout tracing to correlate failure signatures with physical/process limitations.
  • Support NPI qualification and HVM issue resolution to ensure manufacturing stability and timely product release.
  • Lead data-driven yield improvement programs with cross-functional teams (PI, TD, PE, TSE, YE).
  • Develop custom test conditions, scripts, and methodologies for failure validation and experiments.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and share AI-enabled improvements within scope of work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and workplace capabilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across levels.
  • Proven ability to manage and drive complex projects to completion.
  • Teamwork skills and ability to build peer relationships.
  • Knowledge of circuit analysis, layout tracing, yield analysis, and failure mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of NAND memory operation and architecture, CMOS device physics, and wafer fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical failure analysis, bench characterization, probe testing, test flows, data analysis, and DOE methodology.
  • Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Microelectronics, Materials Science, Physics, or Applied Science.
