Role Summary

The Product Applications Engineer develops tools, reference hardware, and software to help customers integrate Analog Devices products into their systems. The role provides technical support, performs product validation and competitor analysis, and works with cross-functional teams to bring products to market.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer support, tool and reference-design development, validation, and documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to help customers integrate ADI products into their designs.
  • Design and develop application tools, reference boards, and demonstration software to showcase product capabilities.
  • Perform product validation and qualification testing to verify specifications and operational limits.
  • Create technical documentation and application notes for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze competitor products and evaluation kits to produce comparison data and strategic insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to support product development and market introduction.
  • Travel to customer sites or events as required (approximately 10% travel).

Requirements

Core skills and practical experience required or strongly preferred.

Must-have
  • System-level design skills and the ability to apply system architecture knowledge to customer applications.
  • Experience developing application tools, reference boards, or demonstration software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex technical issues.
  • Experience with product validation and testing to confirm performance in target applications.
  • Clear technical communication skills for documentation and customer interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor products and their applications; ability to learn new product portfolios quickly.
  • Ability to perform competitor analysis and translate findings into actionable insights.
Nice-to-have
  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products.
  • Familiarity with customer design cycles and integration challenges in relevant application spaces.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. (The posting explicitly lists Bachelor's or Master's in EE/Electronics or related fields.)
