Engineer, PDE HBM NPI

Role Summary

Responsible for probe testing, back-end testing and new-product startup for HBM devices at Taichung Fab 16. The role focuses on test program development, functional validation, product characterization, failure analysis and yield improvement during new product introduction (NPI).

Works closely with design, test, process/integration and fab teams to identify defects, recommend fixes, and ramp product quality.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include probe/back-end testing, validation, yield analysis and automation.

• Develop, review and release probe test programs; own the probe test flow and quality control.
• Characterize products and perform electrical and physical failure analysis using in-house engineering equipment.
• Support new product startup and drive yield improvement activities.
• Use CAD tools and Verilog simulations for design verification and circuit analysis.
• Design test algorithms and develop validation programs for HBM features using high-speed tester hardware.
• Analyze evaluation failures and recommend design or process fixes.
• Automate program development and workflows using scripting; apply AI assistants to improve efficiency.
• Use statistical tools to analyze product data and lead yield improvement projects.

Requirements

• Familiarity with CAD tools and Verilog for design verification (must-have).

• Experience with HBM products, product startup (NPI) or use of AI assistants such as Copilot (nice-to-have).
