Engineer, PCIe Validation
Role Summary
Validate and bring up high-speed PCIe interfaces across controller, PHY, firmware, and system integration to make next-generation AI compute hardware production-ready. This is a hands-on engineering role on Tenstorrent's hardware team based in Vancouver, working closely with firmware and software teams.
This role is hybrid and based in Vancouver, Canada. Employment is contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology.

Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on validation, debugging, and cross-disciplinary integration of PCIe interfaces.
- Lead validation of PCIe controllers, PHYs, and system-level interoperability.
- Develop and execute test plans, compliance and characterization tests, and performance tuning.
- Debug issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers using lab tools (oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, logic analyzer, JTAG).
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to triage and resolve issues.
- Document test results, create reproducible debug procedures, and report status and risks to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for this role.
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
- Experience validating high-speed serial interfaces, preferably PCIe (controller/PHY/system integration).
- Proven ability to debug across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Experience creating and running automated tests and basic scripting for lab automation (e.g., Python).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-team integration and triage.
- Ability to work on-site in Vancouver as part of a hybrid schedule.
- Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; employment may be contingent on citizenship/permanent residency or a government license.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with chiplet/multi-die systems, controller or PHY design details, or RISC-V platforms.
- Prior PCIe compliance testing and characterization experience.
