Job Title

Engineer - Memory Layout

Role Summary

The Physical IP team develops high-performance, low-power memory IP (SRAM/Register File) for advanced process nodes used across server, mobile and IoT SoCs. This role focuses on the layout, characterization, verification, margining and release of memory instances for advanced technologies.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 2–5 years of relevant experience in memory design or characterization.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include hands-on development, verification and release of memory IP instances and supporting flows.

  • Design, margin, characterize, verify and release SRAM and register-file memory instances.
  • Generate and validate multiple views (Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF, GDS).
  • Run characterization and margining across process, voltage and temperature corners for advanced technologies.
  • Use EDA tools for layout, simulation, timing, power analysis and signoff activities.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and flows to improve productivity.
  • Debug failures, perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.

  • 2–5 years experience in memory design or characterization.
  • Strong understanding of SRAM design, digital-circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
  • Good understanding of device physics.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL) and experience building automation.
  • Practical experience with EDA tools used in memory development and verification.
  • Good debugging, problem-solving, communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Nice to have: understanding of computer architecture and experience using AI-assisted tools in workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering is specified (strong academic record preferred).
