Engineer - Memory Design
Role Summary
Work on development, characterization, verification and release of memory IP (SRAM / register file) within Arm's Physical IP division. The team delivers high-speed, low-power, high-density memory instances targeted at servers, mobile and IoT on advanced process nodes.
Experience Level
Entry-level — 0–2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
The core responsibilities focus on validating and preparing memory instances for delivery and integration into SoCs.
- Perform margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances.
- Develop and run tests across different memory types (single-port, dual-port SRAM, register files).
- Work with multiple design views and data formats (Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF, GDS).
- Use and integrate EDA tools in the memory development and verification flow.
- Automate characterization and verification flows using scripting and tools.
- Analyze failures, debug issues, and produce technical reports for releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure IP quality and delivery.

- Good understanding of SRAM and digital circuit fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of device physics relevant to memories.
- Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL) and experience applying automation; familiarity with AI-assisted tools is a plus.
- Optional: understanding of computer architecture.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering (BE/BTech/BS/MS in Electronics or equivalent) is required as stated in the posting.
