Role Summary
The Engineer II - Software is a hands-on individual contributor on the Applications team within Microchip's Secure Computing Group. The role focuses on developing, testing, and supporting embedded firmware for secure Platform Root of Trust products and onboarding customers to those devices.
Primary responsibilities include firmware development and verification, hardware integration and troubleshooting, customer technical support and demos, and producing application notes to support product adoption.

Responsibilities
The core responsibilities are:
- Develop, improve, and test embedded firmware for secure computing products in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Onboard customers to secure Platform Root of Trust devices; provide technical guidance, demonstrations, and solution presentations.
- Perform hardware integration testing, system integration, deployment verification, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and resolve customer issues through the Salesforce ticketing system and maintain timely communication with customers.
- Work with multi-site cross-functional teams to coordinate development and support activities.
- Prepare customer-facing application notes and technical documentation to support product adoption.
- Use embedded debugging tools (oscilloscopes, debuggers, protocol analyzers) to isolate and resolve hardware/software issues.

Must-have: 3β5 years' experience in firmware development and testing for embedded systems, microprocessors, or microcontrollers.

Must-have: Strong C programming skills in an embedded environment.

Must-have: Experience writing automation or support scripts in Python.

Must-have: Practical experience with deployment, verification, and validation of embedded software products.

Must-have: Proficiency with embedded debugging tools (oscilloscope, debuggers, protocol analyzers) and command-line build tools.
