Engineer I - Test Hardware CAD
Role Summary
Design and produce PCB layouts and schematics for test hardware used in semiconductor automated test equipment (ATE). Work within the Test Hardware team to deliver designs that meet tester requirements and business-unit methodology.
Coordinate schedules and reviews with global teams, prepare design deliverables, and support manufacturing/inspection and project execution to meet quality and timeline targets.
Experience Level
Entry-level (0β3 years professional experience).
Responsibilities
Primary duties include PCB design, documentation, reviews, and project coordination.
- Produce and verify PCB designs that meet tester requirements and BU methodology.
- Prepare and deliver design documentation and manufacturing files.
- Review PCB designs against checklists and provide peer feedback.
- Create and communicate project schedules to global team members.
- Perform incoming inspection on assigned projects and ensure deliverable completeness.
- Attend design review meetings with hardware engineers and project requestors.
- Assign or delegate tasks within the team and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain individual productivity, quality, and on-time performance to optimize project cycle time.
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and technical discussions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and teamwork abilities; preferences noted separately.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout processes.
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication data and Gerber files.
- Ability to interpret datasheets and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with semiconductor ATE setup and test hardware requirements.
- Strong written and verbal English communication; able to work on a global team.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Altium and Siemens Xpedition PCB design tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering is stated as the expected qualification.
