Engineer I - Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop software and firmware for force-sensor products and customer solutions. Implement algorithms to process sensor data and integrate software with mechanical and electrical designs.

Work in a cross-functional team with MEMS, CMOS, mechanical and electrical engineers to support product development, customer evaluations, testing, and documentation.

Experience Level

Entry-level (2–3 years of hands-on software development experience expected).

Responsibilities

Deliver firmware/software and algorithms for sensor systems, support customers through evaluation to production, and contribute to testing and documentation.

• Design and implement customer solutions across mechanical, electrical, and software integration, including algorithm development.
• Manage customer evaluation kits and sensor modules; provide multidisciplinary technical support from concept to mass production.
• Perform sensor- and system-level test and characterization and conduct competitor analysis.
• Create technical documentation and training materials, including reference designs and application notes; provide product training to customers and internal teams.
• Collect customer feedback and liaise with marketing and R&D to drive product improvements and roadmap decisions.
• Maintain awareness of industry advancements relevant to consumer electronics and related markets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for the role.

• 2–3 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python for embedded and algorithm development.
• Experience implementing signal-processing and data-processing algorithms (filters, interpolation, classification, polynomial and piecewise fitting) and working with numerical tools.
• Ability to collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate software and hardware solutions.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Android and Linux OS and embedded MCU RTOS environments.
• Experience with I2C and USB protocols.
• Experience using Python NumPy and C for algorithm development; familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Git Copilot).
• Background in semiconductor and automotive industries.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
