Job Title

Video Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and integrate video and Agentic AI software for Linux-based Qualcomm SoC platforms. Work with hardware, systems, and software engineers to design, implement, and commercialize user- and kernel-mode video modules and drivers.

Note: This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Preferred experience indicated as 1+ year in related programming and tooling; role expects practical embedded/Linux development experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver production-quality video software and drivers on Qualcomm SoCs, meeting performance, latency, power, and stability targets.

  • Design, implement, integrate, and maintain user- and kernel-mode video modules and device drivers.
  • Perform requirements analysis and translate into software design and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot and debug video and Agentic AI frameworks on mobile and AI inferencing platforms.
  • Optimize for performance, latency, power, robustness, and stability on embedded SoCs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, systems, software) to integrate and commercialize features.

Requirements

Essential technical skills and experience required for the role.

  • Proficient in C and C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience with Linux development and debugging tools; kernel development and device driver programming (V4L2 focus preferred).
  • Knowledge of Android multimedia frameworks and video-related applications.
  • Experience with video compression standards (H.264 / H.265 / AV1) and video pipelines.
  • Familiarity with streaming protocols (HLS, HTTP, RTSP, DASH) and DRM usage models.
  • Embedded SoC development and debugging experience (ARM or similar); familiarity with JTAG/low-level debug tools.
  • Experience implementing or integrating ML algorithms and Agentic AI frameworks for inference workloads on embedded platforms.
  • Strong software design, multithreaded programming, data structures, and algorithms knowledge relevant to Linux platforms.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize power and performance on embedded systems.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Familiarity with Java, Python, or database and API integration experience.
    • Experience with source control systems such as Git or Perforce.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. (The posting lists these degree expectations explicitly.)
