Role Summary
Entry-level analog/mixed-signal IC design role on a product design team in Dresden. Contribute to design, simulation, verification, and silicon validation of analog and mixed-signal blocks used across industrial, automotive, communications, and consumer applications.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Engineer I). Suitable for recent graduates or engineers beginning their career in analog and mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
Work with senior engineers to develop and validate analog and mixed-signal circuitry from concept through silicon.
- Design and simulate analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks (ADCs, DACs, PLLs, regulators, power management, precision analog, low-power I/O).
- Develop testbenches and test cases for circuit verification.
- Perform transistor-level simulations for functionality, noise, timing, power, and performance optimization.
- Conduct post-layout verification including parasitic extraction and corner analysis.
- Develop behavioral models for analog blocks and prepare simulation reports and design specifications.
- Support bench characterization and silicon validation using laboratory measurement equipment.
Requirements
Core technical skills and teamwork expected for effective contribution to the analog/mixed-signal design flow.
Must-have:
- Understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit fundamentals.
- Knowledge of CMOS device physics and semiconductor technologies.
- Familiarity with analog building blocks (amplifiers, regulators, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, power management).
- Experience with circuit simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, SPICE, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience from internships or academic projects in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
- Exposure to post-layout simulations, parasitic extraction, and silicon characterization.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as Python or MATLAB.
- Practical experience with lab measurement equipment and semiconductor measurement techniques.
- Experience with data converters or clock-generation circuit design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
