Role Summary

FPGA Engineer on the Productivity Engineering group's FPGA team responsible for delivering and supporting FPGA prototyping platforms used for pre-silicon verification across mobile, server, IoT and automotive domains.

The role owns FPGA image development, debugging technologies and automation of FPGA flows, working with global teams to meet validation objectives.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3–6 years of relevant FPGA prototyping experience.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are focused on FPGA prototyping platform development, automation, support and collaboration across engineering and vendor teams.

  • Develop and deploy FPGA images and debugging technologies for system prototyping.
  • Automate FPGA flows and define reusable prototyping methodologies.
  • Support FPGA users and operate/maintain the FPGA service.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to achieve validation goals.
  • Engage with EDA and FPGA vendors to define requirements for next-generation FPGA hardware and tools.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to perform this role.

  • 3–6 years experience with FPGA flows using Xilinx/AMD devices, including compilation, partitioning, synthesis, timing, place-and-route and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience in design debugging and delivering results both individually and in teams.
  • Deep understanding of digital design concepts and Verilog.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach.
  • Experience with code versioning and code review practices.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Tcl.
