Engineer, DRAM PI

Role Summary

Process Integration Engineer in the DRAM R&D Memory Group responsible for developing and integrating technology modules that enable future DRAM memory scaling. Work occurs in a 300mm R&D facility adjacent to a manufacturing site.

The role focuses on defining structural and electrical requirements for modules, developing process flows, and integrating new module solutions across development and manufacturing teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No specific years of experience stated; the role expects advanced technical expertise and experience in semiconductor process integration and device physics.

Responsibilities

Principal duties include designing and validating process solutions, analyzing results, and coordinating cross-functional integration and transfer to manufacturing.

  • Develop novel process flows for critical DRAM modules, including structural and electrical specifications and design rules.
  • Optimize process flows to improve device performance and reduce cost.
  • Design experiments (DOE), perform statistical analysis, and apply results to improve yield.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, Product Engineering, Process Development, Modeling, Yield Enhancement, Failure Analysis, Parametric, and Quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Synthesize complex problems, recommend corrective actions, and build consensus across teams.
  • Define and achieve project sub-milestones aligned with program timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to transfer technology from R&D to production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain knowledge required to perform the role.

  • Knowledge of mainstream memory technologies such as DRAM, NAND, NOR, and SRAM.
  • Expertise in device physics.
  • Understanding of process integration.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical techniques.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Prior semiconductor industry experience.

Education Requirements

Required: MS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. Preferred: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
