Engineer, Design Verification
Role Summary
As a Design Verification (DV) Engineer on the SoC and microcontroller team in Bengaluru you will validate IPs and SoCs using industry-standard verification methodologies, simulation tools, and automation to ensure functional correctness and coverage closure.
You will work with architecture, RTL design, and validation teams to plan tests, debug RTL issues, and improve verification flows.
Experience Level
Entry-level β targeting recent graduates and early-career engineers (approximately 0β3 years of relevant experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Contribute to design verification of IPs and SoCs to ensure functionality and performance meet specifications.
- Build and enhance SystemVerilog/UVM-based testbenches.
- Develop and execute directed and constrained-random test cases.
- Perform functional and code coverage analysis and drive coverage closure.
- Debug RTL issues using simulation tools and collaborate with RTL designers to resolve defects.
- Participate in test planning and maintain requirement traceability.
- Use EDA tools and verification methodologies and contribute to automation for regression and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Architecture, RTL Design, and Validation.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of digital electronics and computer architecture.
- Basic knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Familiarity with data structures and algorithms for problem solving.
- Practical exposure to RTL design/verification, FPGA implementation, or embedded systems.
- Basic programming ability in C, C++ or Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with UVM methodology or verification frameworks.
- Experience with simulation/debug tools such as VCS, Questa, or Xcelium.
- Understanding of functional coverage and assertions (SVA).
- Scripting experience (Python, Shell, TCL) for automation.
- Academic project or internship experience in SoC/IP design or verification.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, VLSI, or related fields. The posting prefers candidates from premier institutes (IIT, NIT, IIIT, IISc) and notes academic or internship exposure to SoC/IP design or verification.
