Senior Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification for a new generation general-purpose neural processing unit (GPNPU). Work on the hardware team reporting to the CTO, collaborating with architects, hardware and software engineers to define verification plans, build testbenches, and deliver verification infrastructure. Preference for candidates who can regularly work from the Burlingame, CA office; participation in onsite meetings is expected.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of design verification experience for CPU or GPU designs.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Architect and develop verification testbenches for GPNPU processors.
• Create and document verification test plans in collaboration with architects, HW and SW designers.
• Implement testbenches using commercial VIPs and/or internal software utilities.
• Develop directed and random drivers plus assembly or C++ programs to exercise the design.
• Use coverage metrics to track verification progress and communicate status.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• 5+ years of design verification experience for CPU or GPU designs.
• Deep knowledge of verification methodologies used for CPU/GPU designs.
• Expertise in UVM or C/C++ based CPU/GPU verification.
• Experience with assembly programming and scripting languages such as Python.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Burlingame, CA for regular collaboration.

Nice-to-have: experience with commercial VIPs, coverage-driven verification, or verification of neural-network accelerators.
