Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering
Analog DevicesJob Title
Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering
Role Summary
Join the Sustainable Automation backend team to validate and characterize mixed-signal silicon and system-level products for industrial applications (industrial communications, digital I/O, motor drivers). The role is hands-on and focuses on hardware prototyping, measurement systems, and cross-functional verification to support product development and release.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Graduate role. No specific years of prior experience required; suitable for recent graduates or engineers with early-career experience.
Responsibilities
Primary tasks and day-to-day responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Development to provide Design-for-Test inputs and verify product designs.
- Support pre-silicon verification via hardware prototypes and software simulation.
- Design and implement hardware-and-software measurement systems for data acquisition and characterization.
- Perform hands-on debugging and bench-top performance measurements; analyze data and prepare reports.
- Identify silicon issues, drive root-cause investigations, and propose workarounds or solutions with the development team.
- Work with Test engineers to correlate bench and ATE measurements and support successful product release.
- Travel as required (up to 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Practical experience in test board design and PCB layout with solid measurement technique understanding.
- Practical experience in mixed-signal hardware design and hands-on debugging (soldering/fixing hardware a plus).
- Experience developing measurement systems combining hardware, software, and data acquisition.
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; ability to summarize and present measurement results.
- Programming experience in Python and/or MATLAB; experience with C/C++/C# or LabVIEW is a plus.
