Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Join the advanced data converters group to drive product evaluation, verification, and release for RF and mixed-signal CMOS products. Work with cross-functional teams (design, test, software, applications, marketing) to take products from definition through production release.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 1–4 years of relevant experience in wireless transceivers or the telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the role include hands-on silicon evaluation, test automation, and cross-functional product release activities.

  • Act as central interface between design, test, application, software and marketing during product development and release.
  • Develop verification and characterization test plans and automation software to collect and analyze test data.
  • Perform lab analysis and characterization of pre-release silicon across analog, digital, and firmware components.
  • Develop and operate embedded-software verification test benches and RF-centric characterization benches.
  • Verify and release embedded software; take silicon and ARM software from early development to full production release.
  • Interact with field sales, applications teams, and customers to resolve product issues; may participate in customer visits.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items noted separately.

  • 1–4 years' experience in wireless transceiver or telecommunications industry.
  • Hands-on RF measurement and signal-processing experience.
  • Experience with circuit evaluation and characterization using bench equipment: spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, vector signal analyzers.
  • Experience with transceiver sub-blocks: PLLs, mixers, LNAs, ADCs/DACs, JESD interfaces.
  • Familiarity with embedded software and verification practices; experience verifying embedded firmware.
  • Familiar with RF/signal simulation tools such as ADS and Cadence.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 10%).

Preferred:

  • Experience with test automation and programming: LabVIEW, C#, Python, TestStand.

Education Requirements

Minimum BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.
