Job Title
Engineer, Design
Role Summary
Responsible for verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits and for developing full-chip mixed-signal simulation environments integrating analog, digital, and firmware. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and product readiness.
Member of the design/verification team focused on analog/mixed-signal blocks and system-level verification for memory-related products.
Experience Level
Entry-level (no specific years of experience stated)
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Verify analog and mixed-signal circuits and subsystems.
- Build and maintain full-chip mixed-signal simulation environments where analog, digital, and firmware co-exist.
- Create schematic and behavioral models of blocks to enable efficient full-chip simulation.
- Perform device-level electrical rule checks (SOA, snapback, SFB) and static/dynamic simulations to identify leakage paths.
- Run SPF extraction and perform fanout and coupling checks.
- Perform power-cycling simulations, including power loss and brownout scenarios.
- Execute chip-level user-mode simulations correlating analog subsystems, logic, and firmware algorithms.
- Review design datasheets and develop verification plans.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing to optimize manufacturability, cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Understanding of MOS device physics, including second-order effects.
- Knowledge of analog circuits such as current mirrors, bandgap references, op-amps, regulators, ADCs, DACs, and charge pumps.
- Experience with scripting (shell, Perl, Python).
- Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, HSPICE, XA, and co-simulation tools.
- Familiarity with HDLs: Verilog/SystemVerilog and Verilog-A/AMS.
- Debugging orientation with a system-level outlook and the ability to adopt complex workflows.
- Proven use of AI-assisted coding or automation to improve efficiency or automate design and analysis methodologies.
Education Requirements
