Job Title

Engineer, Analog Design Engineering

Role Summary

Join the Integrated Voltage Regulators (IVR) design team within ADI’s Data Center & Energy business unit to design high-performance analog and mixed-signal power-management ICs for data center applications. The role focuses on analog block design, mixed-signal integration, verification, and lab evaluation to deliver scalable, efficient voltage regulators.

Experience Level

Mid-level - requires approximately 3 years of relevant analog IC design experience (see Education Requirements for degree guidance).

Responsibilities

Design and validate analog circuitry and support mixed-signal chip-level integration and production readiness.

  • Design analog blocks/sub-blocks to specification with attention to yield and testability.
  • Support block integration at chip level and collaborate with project leaders on architecture and tradeoffs.
  • Create models for verification (behavioral and SPICE-level) and validate model accuracy and speed tradeoffs.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and own assigned tasks.
  • Develop test plans and self-checking test cases for block and chip verification.
  • Work with digital and analog teams to define and verify analog-digital interfaces in mixed-signal environments.
  • Coordinate with layout engineers to address ESD/latch-up, supply routing, noise coupling, and electromigration concerns.
  • Support lab evaluation of fabricated ICs and collaborate with production test engineering on production test issues.
  • Document design work and present results in design reviews; report project status to team and management.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work traits.

  • Strong knowledge of microelectronics analog design techniques and practical design experience.
  • Practical experience with circuit simulation tools (SPICE/Spectre) and analog verification techniques.
  • Understanding of semiconductor production process basics (CMOS/BCD) and testability considerations.
  • Experience supporting analog/digital integration and advanced mixed-signal verification methods.
  • Ability to evaluate devices in lab and support post-silicon debug.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
  • Ability to travel globally up to approximately 10% of the time.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency with Cadence analog design environment (Maestro/ADE-XL, Spectre, AMS) and schematic entry.
  • Experience with high-voltage circuit design and automotive-quality/reliability (ASIL-D) considerations.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal or digital design flows and behavioral/AMS verification.
  • Experience with top-down design tools such as Simplis, Simulink, Matlab, or Mathcad.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) plus ~3 years relevant work experience, or a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). The posting specifies engineering degrees in electrical/microelectronics-related fields as the baseline.
