Emulation Support Engineer
Role Summary
Provide hands-on hardware support and operational ownership for Siemens EDA emulation systems across data center, cloud, hybrid environments, and customer sites. The role focuses on installation, troubleshooting, reliability, automation, and service observability.
Work closely with R&D, customer teams, and operations to maintain high availability, improve performance, and scale emulation infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include lifecycle hardware support, installations, troubleshooting, and cross-team collaboration to maintain and improve emulation services.
- Provide lifecycle hardware support: installation, upgrades, service, and decommissioning of emulation systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electronics hardware issues to restore system availability.
- Perform incident response, root-cause analysis, and problem management for Emulator/ProFPGA and Veloce product lines.
- Execute onsite and remote support: unboxing, rack-and-stack, cabling, hardware assembly, software loading, and initial checkout.
- Conduct customer site surveys to validate electrical, environmental, and infrastructure readiness.
- Manage failed hardware disposition, spare parts inventory, and tracking in internal systems.
- Collect and report operational data to support monitoring, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Provide basic IT and system administration support to maintain operational continuity.
- Serve as hardware technical representative onsite at customer locations domestically and internationally.
Requirements

- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic hardware.
- Familiarity with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience with high-speed serial data technologies and systems.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, automation tools, and performance tuning for observability across hybrid environments.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP) and server/network technology.
- Data center operations knowledge and ability to work in lab/datacenter environments (long periods standing, working in confined/awkward positions).
- Experience handling electronic parts and following grounding/electrostatic procedures.
- Customer-facing experience and strong technical communication and analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel on short notice, including international travel.
- Physical ability to lift and move 50–70 pounds.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with enterprise security standards, compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, SOC 2), safety standards, and passion for automation and self-healing infrastructure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electronic or software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
