Job Title

Emulation Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain emulation software and infrastructure to support SoC bring-up, pre-silicon validation, and software development. Work closely with hardware design, DV, silicon validation, performance, and software teams to diagnose issues and accelerate delivery.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Specific years of experience were not specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on emulation platform bring-up, debugging, and tooling to speed pre-silicon validation and software development.

  • Oversee SoC bring-up and debug on emulation platforms; diagnose and resolve failing SoC/processor tests.
  • Develop software and tooling to capture debug signals and present actionable insights.
  • Implement and optimize DPI-based transactors and hybrid emulation environments for streaming traffic.
  • Support in-circuit emulation for high-speed protocols and perform coverage analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external emulation vendors to improve platform capabilities and performance.
  • Create configurable chip‑to‑chip network models using emulation-efficient primitives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience required to perform the role.

  • Hands-on experience with emulation platforms such as Palladium, Protium, Veloce, or Zebu (bring-up, build flows, debugging, performance tuning).
  • Strong C/C++ and Linux system development experience.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and experience with DPI-based interfaces.
  • Experience with scripting for automation (Python preferred).
  • Strong debugging skills and experience capturing and analyzing hardware/software interactions.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with UVM-based verification environments.
  • Background in design verification, DFT, and testbench modeling.
  • Familiarity with waveform debug tools such as Verdi or SimVision.

Education Requirements
