Emulation Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary
Join AMD's Virtual Bring-Up (VBU) Central Methodology team to develop and support infrastructure for prototyping and emulation of SoC designs. The role focuses on improving emulation and FPGA-based prototyping flows, performance tracking, and enabling earlier software/hardware validation.
Experience Level
Mid-level (mid-career).
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and operation of emulation and prototyping infrastructure across SOC and IP teams and with EDA vendors.
- Design and implement solutions to improve emulation and prototyping efficiency.
- Collaborate with EDA vendors to integrate and optimize flows.
- Develop performance and throughput tracking for emulator workloads.
- Evaluate and deploy FPGA-based platforms and related technologies.
- Analyze emulation data and implement improvements to flows and tooling.
- Contribute to testbench development and verification methodology improvements.
- Work cross-functionally and participate in team engineering processes.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical experience expected for the role.
- Experience with emulation or prototyping flows and infrastructure (practical experience required).
- Programming/scripting proficiency (Python and C/C++ preferred; Unix shell competency required).
- Strong proficiency in Unix environments; administrative-level experience preferred.
- Ability to work across teams and with external vendors; good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: Perl, Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, SQL, Perforce, Git, Jenkins, ELK, PowerBI, VHDL.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
