Job Title

Emulation Engineer, Automotive Robotics

Role Summary

The Emulation Engineer will design and operate scalable high-performance emulation platforms for SiP/chiplet-based AI/ML engines, enabling silicon debug, verification, software development, and performance analysis across hardware, software, and architecture layers.

Work closely with RTL, architecture, verification, and software teams to build infrastructure that supports emulation at scale and brings up chiplet-based systems from RTL to system-level validation. Remote role based in Munich, Germany.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 10+ years of SoC or ASIC experience preferred. Candidates at other seniority levels may be considered and will be assessed during interview.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building and improving emulation environments and flows to support DV, software enablement, and performance/power analysis.

  • Architect, implement, and maintain scalable emulation platforms for multi-chiplet SiPs.
  • Develop testbenches, transactors, monitors, and debug hooks for emulation use.
  • Integrate emulation with software stacks and virtual prototypes to enable low-level and system-level validation.
  • Drive automation of emulation flows, coverage collection, and regression execution.
  • Optimize platforms for frequency, resource sharing, and end-user usability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, RTL/DV, and software teams; mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints are listed below. Preferred skills follow.

  • Extensive SoC/ASIC experience (10+ years preferred) with strong understanding of logic design, verification, and emulation.
  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and C or C++; experience with SystemC.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial emulators such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Veloce.
  • Proven ability to architect DV and emulation environments (transactors, monitors, debug hooks) and automate flows.
  • Strong debugging and system-level problem solving; ability to optimize emulation for performance and resource use.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator; experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; citizenship, permanent residency, or export license may be required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with chiplet/SiP designs, RISC-V CPUs, PCIe/UCIe, and memory controllers.
  • Familiarity with power and performance analysis, virtual prototyping, and system-level validation.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
