Job Title

Emulation Engineer

Role Summary

Work on design, deployment, and support of scalable emulation environments for Arm processor and SoC platforms to enable early software development, system validation, and debug.

Collaborate with architecture, build, verification teams and EDA vendors to optimize emulation workflows and resolve system-level issues.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3 to 6 years of relevant experience with emulation platforms and system validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building, maintaining, and troubleshooting emulation platforms and supporting system bring-up and validation.

  • Develop and sustain scalable emulation environments for complex IP and SoCs.
  • Support system bring-up, debug, and feature validation on emulation platforms.
  • Manage compilation, deployment, and debug flows for ZeBu, Palladium, Strato or similar systems.
  • Troubleshoot simulation/emulation mismatches and system-level test failures.
  • Coordinate with EDA vendors and internal teams to resolve tool issues and introduce new capabilities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience for daily work; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Solid understanding of emulation methodologies and flows.
  • 3–6 years practical experience with emulation platforms (ZeBu, Palladium, Strato or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with RTL languages (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and UVM-based verification environments.
  • Hands-on experience compiling and debugging large-scale builds on emulation platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or similar) to automate workflows and diagnostics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to Arm architecture and embedded systems, SoC bring-up, vendor collaboration, hybrid emulation/simulation workflows, and performance tuning for large-scale emulation systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
