Job Title

Emulation Director

Role Summary

Lead the subsystem emulation team within the Design Verification organization to define and execute emulation, design verification (DV), and post-silicon validation strategies for ASIC/SoC products. Work closely with architecture, design, DFT, physical design, firmware and system teams to ensure successful product delivery.

Responsibilities

Accountable for planning, technical direction, execution and team development for emulation, DV and post-silicon validation.

  • Lead DV, emulation and post-silicon validation execution; define scope and timelines.
  • Define verification methodology and testbench/TV architecture for subsystem emulation.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Architecture, Design, DFT, PD, firmware and system teams.
  • Evaluate and select verification and emulation tools; drive productivity improvements.
  • Monitor industry DV trends and adapt verification strategies.
  • Hire, mentor and retain high-performance engineering staff; manage training and development.
  • Set goals, track progress and take corrective actions to maintain execution quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership skills.

  • Deep knowledge of the ASIC development process and SoC architecture, including processor cores, memory and peripheral interfaces.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional ASIC development and verification teams and deliver production silicon.
  • Hands-on experience defining and implementing DV methodologies and emulation-based verification.
  • Experience designing verification testbench architectures and evaluating verification tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and program management capability.
  • Self-motivated, curious and able to learn new technologies quickly.

Education Requirements

Either a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 20+ years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with 15+ years of experience.
