Emulation Director
Role Summary
Lead the subsystem emulation team within the Design Verification organization to plan and execute emulation, design verification (DV) and post-silicon validation for ASIC/SoC products. Work cross-functionally with architecture, design, DFT, PD, firmware and system teams to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires extensive ASIC verification leadership experience: typically a Bachelor’s +20 years or a Master’s/PhD +15 years of relevant professional experience as specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Lead technical execution and team development for emulation, DV and post-silicon validation.
- Serve as technical leader for the subsystem emulation team and drive zero-defect execution.
- Define DV, emulation and post-silicon validation scope and timelines with stakeholders.
- Set goals, monitor progress, and take corrective actions to keep execution on track.
- Define DV methodology and verification strategies; drive testbench and TB architecture implementation.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Design, DFT, Physical Design, Firmware and system teams to resolve issues and meet product requirements.
- Lead tool evaluation and selection and implement productivity improvements.
- Recruit, hire, and retain a high-performance engineering team and address training and development needs.
- Monitor industry DV trends and adapt team practices as appropriate.

- Proven ability to lead ASIC development and verification teams and deliver production-quality ASICs.
- Strong understanding of the ASIC development lifecycle, verification flows, emulation platforms, and post-silicon validation practices.
- Good understanding of SoC architecture, processor cores, memory subsystems, and peripheral interfaces.
- Experience defining DV methodologies, testbench architectures, and driving verification strategy.
- Experience evaluating and selecting verification and emulation tools; driving productivity improvements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Self-driven, highly motivated, and willing to learn new technologies.
Education Requirements
Formal requirement in the posting: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 20+ years of related professional experience; or a Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 15+ years of related experience.
