Embedded Systems Security Engineer

Role Summary

Work within the SoC/IC Security Engineering team in the CTO organization to define and validate security mechanisms for embedded devices across hardware and firmware. The role involves requirements management, vulnerability analysis, design review, and collaboration with product teams and customers to deliver secure SoC solutions.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining security requirements, assessing implementations, and supporting vulnerability analysis and certification activities.

  • Define and link security mechanisms to functional requirements for hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Assess and review security solution implementations and investigate root causes of security defects.
  • Propose secure hardware and software IP while considering power, area, and performance constraints.
  • Coordinate and perform pre-silicon and post-silicon vulnerability analyses and risk assessments of hardware security architectures.
  • Interface with customers, evaluation labs, and product development teams to communicate findings and requirements.
  • Provide security design, implementation, integration, and verification advice and training to development teams.
  • Support security certification and apply the company security maturity process.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and contribute to security-related innovation.

Education Requirements

Degrees preferred: BSEE or MSEE or PhD, preferably in Security Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
