Embedded System Senior Test Engineer

Role Summary

Join the System Integration and Validation team to validate and verify NFC and embedded UICC solutions for NXP's secure transaction products. The role focuses on system-level testing, test automation, debugging and working across teams to release high-quality firmware and hardware integrations.

Work contributes to flagship mobile-device solutions involving NFC, eSIM and secure element technologies.

Experience Level

Senior-level. 2–8 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include system-level validation, test development and issue resolution:

• Validate and verify NFC components at the system level.
• Develop, execute and automate tests to characterize system performance metrics.
• Create and maintain test scripts according to test plans.
• Participate in technical design reviews and product evaluations.
• Debug and analyze issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects.
• Operate lab and measurement equipment (debuggers, logic analyzers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF sniffers, RF tracers, contact lab tools).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list of core requirements and desirable extras.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Basic knowledge of wireless communications and connectivity concepts (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, NFC, Zigbee) and secure payment solutions.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers.
• Proficient in at least one programming language: C, C++, Java, Python or Perl.
• Familiarity with contact/contactless smartcard protocols (ISO 7816, ISO 14443) and RFID technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams; proactive, hands-on mindset.
• Nice-to-have: Java Card OS experience and knowledge of embedded UICC.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
