Junior Embedded Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the HW Platforms prototyping group to design and implement low-level drivers, reference software, and FPGA-enabled pre-silicon platforms for IC integration, validation and optimization. The team works across HW (RF/analog/mixed-signal/digital), SW, and system teams from pre-silicon to mass production.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Junior. Preferred: approximately 1+ years hands-on embedded software experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on low-level embedded software development, hardware-software integration, and test support for IC validation.

• Develop low-level drivers and reference software for embedded systems (ARM Cortex-M targets).
• Enable FPGA platforms and packages for pre-silicon SW–HW integration and prototyping.
• Collaborate with HW designers and provide actionable feedback on designs and integrations.
• Develop and run tests and automation to support design verification, validation, and product quality.
• Work hands-on in lab environments to characterize and optimize IC performance on target platforms.

Key technical requirements and desirable skills.

Must-have:

• Advanced C programming for ARM Cortex-M.
• Good understanding of IC hardware and its interaction with software.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python) for test automation or tooling.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• 1+ years hands-on embedded software development experience.
• Experience with FPGA-based embedded systems.
• Knowledge of HDL (Verilog or VHDL).
