Job Title

Embedded Software Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, and test embedded software and digital logic for Qrypt's security products, with responsibility for hardware/FPGA/software integration and manufacturing/test tooling. Work within a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, physicists, and cryptographers focused on quantum-safe key generation and secure systems.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 4+ years of experience developing software for embedded platforms or the Linux kernel.

Responsibilities

Primary duties for the role include system design, integration, testing, and tooling to deliver production hardware and software.

  • Lead design, development, and test of systems combining hardware, digital logic (FPGA), embedded software, Linux kernel modules, and user-space Linux software.
  • Perform hardware bring-up and lead hardware/FPGA/software integration and debugging.
  • Contribute to analog/mixed-signal circuit board design reviews and debugging.
  • Develop manufacturing and test procedures and supervise their execution.
  • Create and maintain tools for production test and validation.
  • Apply and evaluate AI-assisted development tools while owning correctness and quality of delivered work.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and technical documentation.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • 4+ years developing software for embedded platforms or the Linux kernel.
  • Proficiency in C and C++; experience with bash and/or Python for tooling and scripting.
  • Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and performance tuning Linux-based systems.
  • Experience bringing up hardware and using electronics lab/test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Familiarity with FPGA development and hardware description languages (Verilog or VHDL).
  • Familiarity with RF and low-noise analog circuit/board design and signal-processing or control algorithms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ownership of delivered work.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Linux kernel modules, network security systems, or quantum random number generator hardware.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical field (Math, Physics, Engineering) is listed as the standard expectation; equivalent relevant work experience is explicitly accepted.
