Job Title

Embedded Software Engineer - DPU Platform

Role Summary

Design and implement system software for NVIDIA DPU (data processing unit) platforms, including firmware, bootloaders, kernel drivers, and user-space components. Work with hardware and product teams within a global, matrixed development organization to deliver high-quality, high-performance embedded platform software.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Preferred 2+ years of experience in embedded software development.

Responsibilities

Deliver and maintain system-level software across the product lifecycle and support global projects.

  • Develop processor firmware, boot-loaders, kernel drivers/modules, and user-space applications and libraries.
  • Collaborate with hardware and product design teams on SoC platform software.
  • Support internal and customer DPU projects across global teams.
  • Address system-level performance, optimization, and resource-utilization challenges.
  • Participate in requirements definition, design reviews, testing, and release activities in an agile environment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 2+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C and Python.
  • Understanding of software/hardware interactions: platform firmware, device drivers, Linux kernel, and user-space performance.
  • Knowledge of high-performance processor architecture, including CPU and cache coherency concepts and hardware accelerators.
  • Experience with build and CI tools such as gcc, git, GitHub, make, bitbake, shell scripting, Gerrit, and Jenkins.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: debugging, testing, performance analysis, and agile development practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ARMv8, ATF, and/or UEFI.
  • Familiarity with multiple Linux distributions and their differences.
  • Knowledge of secure boot flows or trusted computing environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
