Job Title

Embedded Software Engineer - DPU Platform

Role Summary

Develop system-level software for NVIDIA DPU (Data Processing Unit) platforms, including firmware, boot-loaders, kernel drivers, and user-space components. Work within an international, matrixed engineering team to integrate software with SOC hardware and deliver production-quality platform software for data-center deployments.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects approximately 2+ years of professional experience developing software for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain processor firmware, boot-loaders, kernel drivers/modules, and user-space libraries and applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware and product teams to integrate software with SOC platform designs.
  • Support customer and internal DPU projects globally and assist cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze and optimize system-level performance and resource utilization.
  • Participate in the full product development lifecycle with emphasis on clear requirements, software quality, and performance.
  • Work in an agile, distributed development environment and contribute to design reviews and testing activities.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

  • 2+ years developing software for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C and Python.
  • Solid understanding of software/hardware interactions: platform firmware, device drivers, Linux kernel, and user-space performance.
  • Knowledge of high-performance processor architecture, including CPU and cache coherency concepts and hardware accelerators.
  • Strong engineering practices: debugging, building, testing, and experience with agile processes.
  • Familiarity with build and CI tools such as gcc, git, GitHub, make, bitbake, shell scripting, Gerrit, and Jenkins.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ARMv8 microarchitecture, ATF, and/or UEFI.
  • Familiarity with multiple Linux distributions.
  • Knowledge of secure boot flows and trusted computing environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
