Embedded Software Engineer
Role Summary
Develop production-ready embedded firmware for Analog Devices' Data Center and Energy products. Implement measurement algorithms, device drivers, communication protocols, and system services to support product validation and production releases.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career β approximately 2+ years of relevant embedded software development experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver embedded firmware and support integration, debugging, and releases.
- Design and develop embedded firmware for data center and energy products.
- Integrate measurement algorithms with hardware peripherals (ADC, timers, DMA, communication interfaces).
- Develop RTOS-based applications (Zephyr, FreeRTOS): task management, synchronization, interrupt handling.
- Implement device drivers, bootloaders, and firmware update mechanisms.
- Use debugging tools and AI coding assistants to accelerate development and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce clear technical documentation.
- Support product validation, production releases, and maintenance.
- Travel as required (up to 10%).
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required for the role.
- Proficient in C/C++ with ability to write efficient embedded code.
- Practical microcontroller programming experience and basic device driver development.
- Understanding of RTOS concepts and implementation.
- Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and techniques.
- Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose software issues independently.
- Comfortable using AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of the workflow.
- Effective technical communication and documentation skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Approximately 2+ years of relevant embedded software development experience.
