Embedded Software Algorithm Developer

Role Summary

Develop embedded software implementations of signal-processing algorithms for high-speed mixed-signal integrated circuits. The role is on a cross-functional team within the Advanced Cores Group and involves collaboration with analog/digital hardware designers, algorithm developers, software engineers, verification and system evaluation engineers.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New graduate (Graduate Job). Suitable for candidates at the start of their career; typically 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include embedded algorithm implementation, verification, and cross-team integration.

  • Design and implement embedded software for signal-processing algorithms targeting high-speed ICs.
  • Debug, test, and maintain embedded software and related collateral.
  • Contribute to definition of supporting software and hardware requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with analog and digital IC designers, system architects, verification engineers, and system evaluation engineers.
  • Work with distributed development teams; occasional travel (~10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful performance in the role.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded software development.
  • Experience with one or more higher-level languages (Python or MATLAB).
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals (design, testing, debugging).
  • Familiarity with ARM and/or RISC-V architectures and real-time operating systems.
  • Embedded system debugging experience.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills in distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to ~10%.

Nice-to-have:

  • High-level understanding of data converter architectures.
  • Experience implementing and testing DSP algorithms within embedded systems.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
