Role Summary

The AMD Adaptive Embedded Computing Group is seeking a Senior SoC Architect to define cutting-edge Adaptive and Embedded SoCs. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to drive architectural advancements across various applications such as Embedded Computing, AI/ML, Data Center, and Automotive.

Experience Level

We are looking for candidates with significant experience in SoC architecture, particularly in the integration of processor, accelerator, and I/O subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop low-power and cost-effective SoC architectures including processor and I/O subsystems.
  • Define internal embedded processor subsystems, Network on Chip, and Memory controllers.
  • Design modular subsystem architectures for chiplet, monolithic, or 3D deployments.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements and analyze performance, power, and area trade-offs.
  • Outline specifications for hardware, software, and firmware interactions.
  • Author clear architecture specifications and guide teams during design and validation phases.

Requirements

Technical expertise in SoC architecture, particularly with x86, RISC-V, or ARM components. Familiarity with I/O protocols like PCIe and Ethernet is crucial, as well as experience in embedded computing, aerospace, data-center, networking, or automotive sectors.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.
