Job Title

Embedded Memory Circuit Designer

Role Summary

Design and develop transistor-level embedded memory compilers and memory IP as a member of the Embedded Memory R&D team in Noida. The role focuses on bitcell, sense amplifier, decoder and peripheral circuit design, verification, and iteration to meet performance, power, area, and yield targets.

This position works directly with design leads and cross-functional teams to deliver validated memory IP for AI, automotive, mobile, and data-center applications.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, validating, and troubleshooting embedded memory circuits and compiler components.

  • Design transistor-level bitcells, sense amplifiers, decoders, and control logic for embedded memories and memory compilers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug circuit-level issues across process corners, voltage ranges, and temperature conditions.
  • Perform transistor-level simulation and validation using HSPICE, Spectre, or equivalent tools to meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with design leads to define circuit architectures and evaluate tradeoffs between performance, area, power, and manufacturability.
  • Apply timing closure, leakage optimization, and yield-enhancement techniques within memory compiler flows.
  • Work with internal teams and customers to gather requirements, reproduce issues, and deliver validated solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Hands-on experience designing and developing embedded memory circuits or memory compilers at the transistor level.
  • Strong understanding of CMOS circuit design fundamentals for bitcells, sense amps, decoders, and memory peripherals.
  • Proficiency with transistor-level circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE or Spectre for analysis and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve circuit-level issues across PVT/process corners.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with memory compiler flows (timing analysis, power optimization, DFM) and scripting for automation (Python, Perl, Tcl).

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, VLSI Engineering, or a related technical field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in the same fields with relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience in memory design is acceptable.
