Job Title

Embedded Linux Engineer — Robotics & Autonomous Machines (NVIDIA Jetson)

Role Summary

Develop and bring up embedded Linux platforms for edge AI and autonomous machines using NVIDIA Jetson modules. Work within Arrow's engineering team and directly with customer engineering teams to build BSPs, board bring-up, and deploy real inference workloads on constrained hardware.

Role includes kernel and driver work, Yocto/Buildroot image builds, integration of robotics/perception stacks, and field validation of reference designs leading to production support.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typical 3–7 years). The posting indicates strong embedded Linux fundamentals with roughly 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities and customer-facing activities.

  • Board bring-up and BSP development for NVIDIA Jetson modules, including kernel, device tree, drivers, and boot flow.
  • Build and tune embedded Linux images (Yocto / JetPack / L4T) for customer platforms.
  • Integrate robotics and perception stacks (ROS 2), camera and sensor pipelines (MIPI CSI, GMSL), CAN, and real-time control.
  • Optimize edge AI inference: model deployment, TensorRT tuning, and thermal/power budgeting on constrained platforms.
  • Prototype reference designs with internal teams and support customers to move prototypes into volume production.
  • Work directly with customer engineering teams during hardware bring-up, debugging, and field validation.

Requirements

Must-have skills and relevant technologies. Nice-to-have items are noted.

  • Must-have: Strong embedded Linux fundamentals: C/C++, Python, kernel and driver-level debugging experience.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with ARM SoCs and single-board computers; Yocto or Buildroot experience.
  • Must-have: Practical hardware debugging skills (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and experience diagnosing systems that fail to boot.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to ROS / ROS 2, computer vision, CUDA, TensorRT, real-time control, and motor drives.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience optimizing inference workloads for thermal and power constrained embedded platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, AI, or a related field.
