Embedded Engineer
Role Summary
Embedded Engineer responsible for board bring-up, BSP and Linux kernel/device driver development, and hardware–software integration for Qualcomm QCS-based platforms. Role sits on an engineering team working on platform validation, performance optimization and system stability.
Work arrangement: fully on-site in North Billerica, MA. Candidates must be eligible for export under ITAR (U.S. Person).

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform board bring-up for Qualcomm QCS-based hardware platforms.
- Develop and customize Board Support Packages (BSPs), Linux kernel components, device trees, and device drivers.
- Support hardware validation, system integration and cross-team debugging with hardware, firmware and product engineering.
- Debug bootloader, kernel, driver, and peripheral issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Optimize system stability, performance, and power consumption.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and compliance requirements:
- ITAR compliance: U.S. Person required (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- Hands-on experience with Qualcomm QCS platforms (examples: QCS6490, QCS8550, QCS5430, QCS610, QCS8250 or similar).
- Strong Embedded Linux development experience.
- Proficient in C/C++ programming.
- Experience with board bring-up and hardware–software integration.
- BSP, Linux kernel, device tree, and device driver development experience.
- Experience debugging bootloader, kernel, and platform bring-up issues; strong root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with ARM-based architectures.
- Experience interfacing peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, MIPI CSI, and DSI.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Android BSP development on Qualcomm platforms.
- Camera and multimedia integration experience.
- Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, USB integration; Yocto Linux; secure boot and embedded security concepts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required (as stated). No alternative-equivalent language provided.
