Electro-Optic Process Integration Engineer
Marvell TechnologyJob Title
Electro-Optic Process Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Join a silicon-photonics integration team developing optical engines and components for AI and data-center infrastructure. The role focuses on integrating novel process steps and materials across manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and testing, working with internal teams and external foundries, suppliers, and equipment partners.
This position is located in Adliswil / Zurich and is eligible for company bonus and equity programs.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Expectation: 3+ years of hands-on process development or integration experience in photonics or semiconductor environments.
Responsibilities
Deliver scalable process integration solutions from feasibility through production readiness and ensure smooth adoption across internal and external partners.
- Identify and design solutions to integrate new process steps and materials across manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and test flows.
- Plan, execute, analyze, and document experiments and design-of-experiments (DOE) in lab and with external partners; translate results into process improvements.
- Develop and transfer processes with external foundries, OSATs, suppliers, and equipment vendors, driving technical scope and readiness criteria.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to integrate new processes into existing workflows and assembly sequences.
- Manage feedback loops between internal teams and external partners to resolve technical issues and de-risk process transfers.
Requirements
Key must-have skills, plus a few desirable additions.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in process development or integration of novel materials in photonics or semiconductor environments, including planning and executing DOEs and implementing process improvements.
- Systems-level understanding of manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and test chains (including familiarity with advanced packaging, wafer-level processing, PCB/board design, or OSAT workflows).
- Solid grounding in integrated-photonics device physics and semiconductor fabrication processes.
- Proven ability to scope, drive, and manage collaborations with external foundries, suppliers, and equipment partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical trade-offs to diverse audiences and build productive long-term relationships.
- Self-starting, proactive, and adaptable - able to take ownership and pivot priorities as needed.
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review prior to employment.
Education Requirements
Master's degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Materials Science, or a closely related technical field (as stated in the posting).
