Electrical Validation Engineer, cSSD Hardware
Role Summary
Responsible for hardware bring-up and electrical validation of memory and storage platforms (NAND and DRAM-based). Works cross-functionally with hardware design, firmware, and system teams to ensure electrical robustness and product reliability through hands-on lab validation and automation.
Experience Level
Mid-level — approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems, hardware bring-up, and validation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on bring-up, validation, debug, and automation of electrical and embedded systems:
- Lead embedded system and hardware bring-up for new memory and storage platforms.
- Perform electrical validation and debug of hardware interfaces and subsystems.
- Debug and validate power delivery systems, including DC-DC converters, PMICs, regulators, and power sequencing.
- Validate high-speed signals and interfaces for electrical robustness and compliance.
- Work hands-on with NAND Flash and DRAM-based systems during validation and debug cycles.
- Perform electrical measurements using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Develop automation scripts and test cases to improve validation efficiency, coverage, and repeatability.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, and system teams to support root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Drive efficiency and scale through test automation and adoption of AI-assisted debug and analysis tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (education listed separately).
- Minimum 2 years experience in embedded systems, hardware bring-up, and validation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical validation methodologies, power delivery systems, and high-speed signal fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electrical lab equipment.
- Experience with NAND and/or DRAM-based systems.
- Scripting for automation (Python, Shell, or equivalent) and familiarity with test automation frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and system teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Experience or interest in adopting AI-assisted tools for validation and debug (preferred).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
