Role Summary

Entry-level Electrical Test Engineer position in the Yield Engineering organization at GlobalFoundries Fab 9 in Essex Junction, VT. The role focuses on development, support and continuous improvement of 200mm semiconductor electrical test processes and equipment.

Work involves test development, data analysis, troubleshooting and collaboration with integration, equipment and quality engineering to improve yield and support next-generation technologies.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” New college graduate (2027). Designed for recent graduates; no specific prior years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include test development, data-driven troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration to improve product quality and yield.

  • Develop and implement test methods and procedures for process control, inspection and product testing.
  • Perform electrical product testing and analyze test data to identify defects and failure modes.
  • Analyze electrical measurement data to determine root causes related to data collection equipment or processes.
  • Program test protocols and manage electrical test data workflows.
  • Design and develop new test environments to support next-generation technologies.
  • Lead hands-on troubleshooting and tactical investigations of complex systems to resolve long-term performance issues.
  • Collaborate with integration, equipment and quality engineering to implement improvements that increase throughput and reduce cost.
  • Support continuous improvement and yield learning initiatives; participate in other projects as needed.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

  • Must-have:
    • Fluent English (written and verbal).
    • Technically inclined with strong hands-on troubleshooting ability and willingness to work on tactical problem-solving.
    • Ability to analyze electrical measurement data and use findings to drive corrective actions.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Prior internship or co-op experience in semiconductor testing or related fields.
    • Programming experience (Perl, C, Python) for test protocol implementation and data handling.
    • Familiarity with semiconductor devices and processing.
    • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
    • Strong written/verbal communication, planning and project execution skills.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree (or graduating with a Bachelor's) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related technical field from an accredited program. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA. (Position targeted to 2027 new college graduates.)
