Electrical Hardware & AI Integration Engineer
BroadcomJob Title
Electrical Hardware & AI Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Serve as the technical bridge between IT/GTO and design engineering teams to enable scalable, hardware-focused engineering workflows. Provide hands-on hardware design, power-electronics validation, and apply AI techniques to accelerate circuit analysis and hardware development lifecycles.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify an explicit years-of-experience requirement.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Act as the primary technical liaison between GTO/IT and design engineering to translate complex hardware requirements into scalable solutions.
- Perform worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA) and sensitivity analysis to evaluate performance margins for automotive and aerospace-grade hardware.
- Identify and implement AI tools to automate repetitive engineering tasks (e.g., electronic component modeling, signal-integrity data analysis).
- Support schematic design, component selection, and multi-layer PCB layout using tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence.
- Execute board bring-up and validation for high-speed digital systems using programmable PNAs and high-bandwidth oscilloscopes.
- Develop and tune embedded firmware (C/C++, Python/MicroPython) for closed-loop control systems and power regulation.
- Participate in formal design reviews and peer evaluations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven mastery of circuit and PCB tools such as Cadence PSpice, Altium Designer, LTSpice, or KiCad.
- Proficient programming skills in Python, C/C++, and MATLAB.
- Strong knowledge of power and signal integrity, FMEA, and communication protocols (SPI, UART, CAN).
- Experience with high-speed digital systems, power converters, or satellite communications in fast-paced environments (startup or research lab experience noted).
- Hands-on experience with hardware validation, board bring-up, and test instrumentation.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical teams or professional organizations.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power-electronics topologies (buck, boost, flyback) and semiconductor device characterization.
- Familiarity with safety-critical systems such as Brake System Plausibility Devices (BSPD).
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (specified in the posting).
