Electrical Engineer - Semiconductor Design Specialist
Role Summary
Contract engineer supporting development and enhancement of lithography and optical inspection/metrology systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role is part of the Engineering Department and focuses on PCB/control system design, system architecture, and hands-on bring-up and troubleshooting.
Experience Level
Mid-level (open to junior through senior candidates). Guidance: minimum ~1+ year of progressive engineering or internship experience in high-tech manufacturing or related environments.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include system- and board-level electrical design, test, and troubleshooting to support semiconductor equipment development.
- Develop system architecture for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Define design requirements and create engineering solutions for complex problems.
- Design, layout, and bring-up of industrial control panels and PCBs; ensure signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot control systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Design and execute experiments to characterize and improve lithography and optical inspection/metrology systems.
- Support product lifecycle activities from design through validation and field support.

- Minimum ~1+ year of engineering or product development experience in high-tech manufacturing; internship experience accepted for junior candidates.
- Proficiency with PCB and mechanical-electrical design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks; familiarity with SPICE and MATLAB.
- Experience with PCB layout, signal integrity, EMI/EMC practices, and safety standards.
- Practical experience with embedded systems, PLCs, FPGAs, or microcontrollers is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to engineering tasks.
- Ability to work within a product lifecycle process and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to ~5%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is stated. Internship experience is accepted for junior candidates; related practical or progressive engineering experience is considered.
