Job Title

Electrical Engineer, Production Test (Intelligence Systems)

Role Summary

Join the Manufacturing organization supporting the Intelligence Systems team to design and build automated test platforms and PCBA assemblies that validate products to production standards. The role focuses on data acquisition, physical-layer interfaces, test automation, and collaborating with firmware and product teams to enable reliable, high-throughput manufacturing.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience with product designs that have gone to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Design, prototype, and deliver test hardware and fixtures used in production and verification.

  • Design circuits and schematics for test automation platforms and integrate them into product data management systems.
  • Design and source PCB assemblies including FPGA-based data-acquisition boards, MCU interface boards, breakout boards, wiring harnesses, and peripheral modules.
  • Architect and source circuit-board test fixtures; integrate with internal and off-the-shelf data-acquisition equipment.
  • Develop and maintain internal test-circuit libraries and apply DFM/DFT practices.
  • Bring up, debug, and characterize circuits and interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, memory, RF, etc.).
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers to enable board support packages and MCU RTOS bring-up.
  • Improve automation, throughput, test user interfaces, and data analytics for production testing.

Requirements

Must-have skills and qualifications are listed first; preferred skills follow.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of relevant industry experience with product designs that progressed to manufacturing.
  • Must-have: Expertise in PCBA design and fabrication; able to produce designs or work with contract manufacturers.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with professional EDA tools (Altium, Cadence, PADS, or similar) for schematic capture and layout.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with electronics test equipment: power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and data-acquisition sensors.
  • Must-have: Experience with product lifecycle/PLM systems and releasing designs for production.
  • Must-have: Ability to bring up and debug low-speed and high-speed interfaces and characterize hardware.
  • Must-have: Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python) for configuration and automation.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with FPGA PCBA platforms (RTL, synthesis, bare-metal coding) and FPGA-based data acquisition.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A Master of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field is preferred.
