Role Summary

Entry-level ASIC/FPGA engineer supporting the Applied Research and Technology 6 Microelectronics Technology team. Work includes digital architecture, RTL implementation, verification, and system integration for defense-oriented ASIC and FPGA solutions.

Position is based onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA and requires eligibility for U.S. government security clearance.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Capture requirements and contribute to ASIC/FPGA digital architecture.
• Implement digital designs using RTL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog).
• Support verification efforts and system-level integration of ASIC/FPGA implementations.

Requirements

Must-have:

• U.S. citizenship required (security clearance eligibility).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• RTL coding and simulation experience in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
• Experience with ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (example tools: ModelSim, Quartus, Vivado).
• Experience debugging hardware and performing root-cause investigations using schematics and digital lab equipment.
• Ability to work onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.
