Electrical Design Engineer (FPGA & PCB)
Role Summary
Design and validate integrated electrical sub-systems that combine PCBs and FPGAs for KLA service products. Work on architecture, schematic/layout review, board bring-up and system-level validation while collaborating with global engineering, field teams and suppliers.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career — typically 2+ years of relevant experience (engineering roles in PCB/FPGA or related domains).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, integration, test and documentation of FPGA and PCB-based subsystems.
- Participate in FPGA architecture, logic design, integration and validation.
- Participate in PCB architecture, component selection, schematic capture, layout review and board bring-up/validation.
- Create and execute test plans; perform bench and system-level technical analysis and validation.
- Produce design documentation and presentations for design reviews across phases.
- Apply systems engineering principles to optimize designs at the system level.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external customers and suppliers during development and deployment.

- Must-have: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design principles including signal integrity, high-speed digital design, and hardware–software integration.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Must-have: Effective verbal and written communication; self-motivated and able to work in and across teams globally.
- Must-have: Ability to manage priorities, understand business urgency and assess technical risk.
- Nice-to-have: FPGA and embedded board-level design experience.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with motor/motion control systems.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with camera systems and image acquisition.
Education Requirements
MSEE preferred, or BSEE with 2+ years of related work experience (degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field as stated in the posting).
