Job Title
Electrical Design Engineer — Analog PCB Design
Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal printed circuit board subsystems for a next-generation reticle inspection tool. Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to define electrical subsystem specifications, deliver PCB designs, and support integration, lab bring-up, and manufacturing transfer.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience range varies by degree but generally aligns with 3–5+ years of relevant electrical/analog PCB design experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on analog PCB and subsystem design, validation, and handoff to manufacturing.
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts; perform full-cycle PCB design from concept through manufacturing release.
- Design and simulate analog, mixed-signal, and DC/DC power subsystems; work with ADCs, DACs, op amps, sensors, and related circuitry.
- Perform signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation for PCB and cable interconnects.
- Participate in system-level specification with systems and subsystem engineers.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to meet specification and reliability targets.
- Integrate, test, and characterize subsystems; perform lab bring-up, troubleshooting, and design validation.
- Support transfer to manufacturing and provide PCBA troubleshooting during production ramp.
Requirements
Must-have skills and practical experience for the role.
- Proficiency with OrCAD/other CAD tools and electronic simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience in analog, mixed-signal and digital circuit design, including ADCs/DACs and power supplies.
- Experience with low-noise analog design, instrumentation techniques, and PCBA troubleshooting using EE lab tools.
- Full-cycle PCB design experience: schematics, layout, DFM and manufacturing coordination.
- Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC principles and mitigation practices.
- Ability to perform subsystem integration, testing, and characterization during bring-up.
Nice-to-have:
- Semiconductor industry experience.
- Noise analysis and high-voltage design experience.
- Safety and compliance knowledge.
- Familiarity with advanced FPGA design.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications list degree-and-experience combinations: Doctorate (0 years related experience); Master’s degree (plus ~3 years related experience); Bachelor’s degree (plus ~5 years related experience). Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or closely related technical fields are typical for this role.
