EDA Tools Hardware Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and verify hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies to support advanced semiconductor design at new technology nodes. Collaborate with internal teams and EDA vendors to improve automation, performance, power, and efficiency for chip design and physical implementation. This role follows a hybrid work model based in Haifa, Israel.
Experience Level
Mid-level; typically 3β5+ years of relevant industry experience in hardware design automation, EDA tools, or physical design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and verify hardware design tools, flows, and methodologies for new technology nodes.
- Define and develop methodologies that integrate advanced EDA tools focused on performance, power, and efficiency.
- Create and verify hardware designs including full-chip integration and hierarchical systems to enable end-to-end tool validation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external EDA vendors to define, test, and enhance next-generation tools and methodologies.
- Develop, test, and optimize automation platforms, databases, scripts, and tool flows for hardware design processes.
- Support layout construction, layout verification, physical design optimization, timing, and clocking analysis.
- Debug software and resolve issues in design automation tools and methodologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 3β5+ years' experience in hardware design automation or related EDA roles.
- Proficiency with Unix-based environments.
- Experience developing tools, flows, and methodology (TFM) for hardware design.
- Hands-on experience in layout construction, layout verification, and physical design optimization.
- Ability to debug software and resolve issues in design automation tools.
- Programming experience with Python and TCL.

- Experience collaborating with external EDA vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to enhance and optimize tools and workflows to improve productivity and efficiency.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (as stated in the posting).
