EDA Product Validation Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Join the R&D team to design, implement and maintain automated validation and regression testing for EDA software used in ASIC/IC physical implementation. The role focuses on test automation, test plans, defect localization, and collaboration with application engineers and QA stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include planning and executing validation activities, automating tests, and reporting results.

  • Create comprehensive test plans for features and enhancements.
  • Design, implement and maintain automated regression and validation frameworks and scripts.
  • Perform manual verification when needed using third-party tools.
  • Run tests daily and on demand; collect and report results to stakeholders.
  • Report defects with clear localization, reproduction steps and necessary artifacts (scripts, layouts, etc.).
  • Work with Application Engineers to analyze customer-side issues and reproduce problems.
  • Provide regular status reports and participate in QA and cross-functional meetings.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Knowledge of full RTL-to-GDS flow.
  • Strong knowledge of static timing analysis and timing constraints and their impact on ASIC flows.
  • Experience with automated software testing, preferably in the EDA domain.
  • Scripting/programming skills and understanding of basic algorithms and algorithmic complexity.
  • Basic knowledge of Boolean algebra, logical circuits, and manufacturing-related EDA flow concepts.
  • Experience using source control systems and issue-tracking tools; familiarity with planning tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.).
  • Fluent English (verbal and written) and ability to work in an international team.
  • Willingness to support team members during critical situations.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog Assertions.
  • Knowledge of DFT methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an EDA- or computer-science-related field is specified: examples include Cybernetics, Computer Science, Microelectronics, Applied Mathematics. (BS/MS stated in source.)
